Catalog . com: www.catalog.com While catalog.com offers free hosting, it is only if you register your domain name through them. We have a site hosted by Catalog.com and are totally pleased with their support and the performance of their servers. They also offer front page support, a POP3 mailbox, and mail forwarding, They host some big name sites and offer hosting as well as e-business tools. Their registration fee is a bit higher than some. If you're looking to get your own domain name and all the advanced features, give them a try!
CityMax: www.citymax.com Finally a solution that allows you to make a small business website with all the features you expect to find on a big corporation site. Crosswinds: www.crosswinds.net Crosswinds is located in Canada. Unlimited space, no cgi. Excellent support, good user forums, browser upload is easy to use. They are quick to resolve issues and keep users up to date in their 'updates' area. Their server does tend to be slow at times. NOTE: as of 10/12/00 Pop-up ads are used on a temporary basis to finance new server upgrades!
Cybergate Web Hosting: www.cgwebhosting.com Professional OC-12 web hosting as low as $.50 per month. Their starter plan (50 cents/month) is great for a simple starter website, while their largest plan can handle a full scale e-commerce site.

Freedom to Surf: www.f2s.com Freedom to surf is located in Great Britain and provides free 20 mb hosting with no ads, allows cgi and Front Page extensions. Has a good support forum, and short URL. They just recently added more server space so they could accept more members. There were a lot of negative comments in their user forum during the transition, but we have not had any issues. We have been notified that as of February 2002, Freedom to surf will no longer offer free hosting. Their paid hosting will continue.
Freeservers: www.freeservers.com Freeservers provides a 20 Mb webspace. Your URL is any of a series of easy to remember subdomains such as 'you.s5.com', 'you.8k.com', 'you.freeservers.com' etc. It took a while to get their email forwarding to work, but their tech support did finally get it straight. Browser upload can be a bit slow!

The program runs very slowly on line, but can be downloaded and used at your leisure. You will find many, many users of this service as it is easy to use. 20 mb of space, url is homestead.com/you. This is now a low cost paid service.

Worldzone www.worldzone.net Excellent servers, good speed. Only require a banner at the bottom of your pages. 50 mb of space. Also offer a low cost paid, no ad service. We use them for one of our test sites. 12/6/2001 - over the last couple months, system upgrades have caused some real problems here.
